My Teaching
Yoga is both a passion and constant
inspiration in my life. I am a certified teacher (RYT) with the
international Yoga Alliance and I’ve been practicing yoga for over 10 years.
I have studied various disciplines including – Astanga, Anusara, Hatha,
Kundalini, Vinyasa Flow and Jivamukti. Without categorising my teaching into
a singular school or style, I borrow from each what works best for me to
both practice and teach.
Leading each practice with sensitivity, awareness and intelligence I combine
a softer consciousness of movement with flowing sequences and postures. My
classes are playful and dynamic with a strong emphasis on connecting
movement and breath.
During my sessions I create deep understanding through clear guidance and
support. When people leave my class feeling positive, challenged and happier
then I have succeeded!
I firmly believe that Yoga offers us a different way in life and has far
reaching benefits for all.
My Background
I am originally from the UK, although in recent years I have lived and
travelled overseas. Like most people Yoga ‘found me’ when I was looking for
a way to improve my fitness and general well being. Immediately engaged by
the heightened exhilaration and clarity I was experiencing, and not just
during the practice, I knew this was something different.
Yoga was absorbing more of my time and heart, leading me to re-evaluate both
life and my career. It felt like the natural decision to become a teacher.
My formal training was in the Himalayas in India.
The most enjoyable part of teaching is witnessing the far reaching benefits
that initially drew me to the practice, in my students. I feel privileged to
be even a small part of making a difference through sharing my passion.
